Description

"Echoes of the Earth: Journey Around the World"

Join the Rutgers University Concert Band for "Echoes of the Earth: Journey Around the World" a diverse program showcasing the versatility of compositions for wind bands. We begin with Sousa's iconic "March - The Black Horse Troop," followed by the serene "Evensong" by Harbinson. Van Der Roost's "Suite Provencale" transports us to sunny Provence, while Lendt's "Mesa Dances" portrays the American Southwest. De Haan's "Ammerland" paints a peaceful pastoral scene, contrasting with the electrifying energy of Mackey's "Lightning Field." Finally, Hisaishi's enchanting "Theme from Howl's Moving Castle" delivers us to the imaginative universe of Studio Ghibli. This concert offers a rich tapestry of musical landscapes, from grand marches to evocative melodies, carried on the wings of winds and percussion.
